Every culture on earth enjoys some style of music and each individual has their own favorite genre. From Gregorian Chants and Reggae to Black Gospel, Country, Classical, and Rock, to contemporary Christian music.
Music is one of those rare things that can cross cultural lines and barriers and bring people together. This is even more true of Contemporary Christian music which unites people both in their love of the Lord and their enjoyment of song.
What is it that makes music such a powerful force? People become cult followers of popular bands, give up lucrative careers to play in clubs, and set in their rooms and play guitar for hours. Folks of all ages will travel for hours and pay big dollars to see their favorite Christian artist or rock and roll band.
Could it be that music has always existed? Could it have it's origins in the heart of the Creator? Do we not see music everywhere through-out the Creation? Birds, dolphins, whales, the wind, streams of water and an endless flood of song and music wherever you turn in nature. It is almost as if we are all born with an innate desire to hum and sing and and be sung too, as we take part in the Spirit and Song of the Maker.
